Livelihood Enhancement

Livelihood is not just a source of income, but it leads to empowerment, self confidence, self-esteem & respect within family , stability, and social empowerment — especially for women, single women, and economically vulnerable families.

"Self-reliance is the foundation of women empowerment, dignity, strength, and sustainable change."

Since its inception, RJVS has connected over 32,000+ families to sustainable livelihood resources and provided skill-based training to more than 5,000 women/ adolescents , helping them become financially independent and confident decision-makers.

Key Initiatives:

icon  Skill Training for Self-Employment: RJVS offers hands-on vocational training in Carpet, Patch work, Soap Making, Stitching, Agarbatti, Rashna Sharbat, beauty care, spice-making, and other market-relevant trades. Over 5,000 women have been trained to launch small enterprises or provide services within their communities, transforming their skills into income-generating activities.

We trained 13 girls in computers (RSCIT- Rajasthan State Certificate Course in Information Technology) at our own expense and gave them certificates recognized by the Rajasthan government. After this, we motivated them for self-employment by opening e-mitra.

icon  Linking Families with MGNREGA: To support employment continuity for the rural poor, RJVS has helped 50,000+ families to register under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), ensuring access to wage-based work during times of economic uncertainty.

icon  Promoting Collective Entrepreneurship: In villages like Kiyawas,Jagela, Khadri &sansera (Bagol Gram Panchayat), RJVS has supported women farmers in establishing sustainable, agriculture-based livelihoods by installing a community pump and irrigation system using flexible pipes. More than 118 families were benefitted by this project in four villages. These women now have access to shared water resources that have enhanced crop production and household incomes — avoided their exploitation while making farming a more viable and resilient livelihood and it has stopped migration . Further they have promised education to their children and not to marry their children early.

RJVS firmly believes that poverty is the root cause of many bad and derogatory practices in our rural societies and when women and families become self-reliant, the foundations of social transformation become stronger, more inclusive, and long-lasting.
