Project Manager – AI-Assisted Reverse Engineering

Location - Chicago, USA

Work Mode - Remote, with a travel to client location as required

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the full-scale implementation of an AI-assisted reverse engineering and modernization initiative. The Project Manager will oversee scope, schedule, and delivery across multi-functional teams, ensuring successful migration from legacy UNIX-based COBOL and C programs to a modern .NET and SQL environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the end-to-end planning and execution of the modernization project.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams including AI specialists, developers, and QA analysts.
• Manage project schedules, risks, and stakeholder communications.
• Oversee adoption and effective use of AI/LLM tools such as Cursor AI.
• Ensure deliverables meet quality, performance, and functional objectives.
• Maintain documentation, progress reports, and alignment with the PMO.

Required Qualifications:

• Overall, 10+ years of experience with a minimum 5 years of experience managing reverse engineering or complex legacy modernization projects.
• Proven success leading multi-disciplinary technical teams.
• Good understanding of AI/LLMs and AI-assisted development tools (preferably Cursor AI).
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• PMP or equivalent certification preferred.
• Proven experience of managing and coordinating with offshore team

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with COBOL, C, .NET, and SQL.
• Experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD environments.
• Background in Software Development or large-scale data processing systems.
