USC Arcadia Hospital (USCAH) is a 348-bed, full-service, not-for-profit community hospital serving the San Gabriel Valley. Originally founded in 1903 by the Women’s Home Missionary Society of the Methodist Church, the hospital has evolved into a regional leader in advanced, patient-centered care. As part of the Keck Medicine of USC health system, USCAH is nationally recognized for excellence across a wide range of services, including cardiac care stroke, bariatric surgery, cancer, orthopedics, and more.
Each year, USCAH treats more than 50,000 patients in its busy Emergency Department and performs thousands of complex procedures using state-of-the-art technology. The hospital is equipped with advanced diagnostic and therapeutic tools, including a 320-slice CT scanner, high-definition MRI, cutting-edge catheterization labs, electrophysiology suites, and neuro-interventional radiology.
Accredited by The Joint Commission, DNV, and numerous specialty-specific organizations, the hospital is also designated as a Comprehensive Stroke Center and a STEMI Receiving Center. With over 1,900 employees, 700 medical staff, and 150+ volunteers, USC Arcadia Hospital remains deeply committed to its mission of delivering high-quality, compassionate care to one of the most diverse communities in Los Angeles County.
The Position:
Reporting dually to the President & Chief Executive Officer of USC Arcadia Hospital and to the Keck Medicine of USC System Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), the Vice President, Human Resources (VPHR) leads all aspects of the hospital’s Human Resources operations. This includes oversight of talent acquisition, labor relations, total rewards, organizational development, and employee engagement. The VPHR also oversees Workforce Training & Development, Employee Child Care Services, and Spiritual Care. This role is pivotal in driving strategic alignment between hospital-level HR practices and Keck Medicine of USC's systemwide goals. The VPHR serves as a trusted advisor to the CEO and Executive Team, leading integration efforts with the health system, building a just and accountable culture, and advancing employee satisfaction and retention.
Experience/Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (required).
• Minimum 10 years of progressive HR leadership in healthcare, with at least 5 years at the executive level.
• Experience in academic health systems and highly matrixed environments preferred.
• Knowledge of California employment law, labor relations, and hospital compliance (required).
• SHRM-SCP or SPHR certification preferred.
Compensation:
For the selected candidate, a complete and competitive compensation package will be offered which includes target salary of $300K+/- depending on experience plus incentive compensation, major insurances, PTO, retirement, and relocation assistance.
