A family in Bay Head, New Jersey, is seeking a temporary nanny to assist while Mom recovers from surgery. The anticipated schedule is Monday through Friday from 7:30 am until 7:00 pm. Additionally, the candidate may be required to work every other Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 am until 6:00 pm; however, the children will not be present during weekend hours.
Duties include:
Preparing basic meals for the children. Doing their laundry. Vacuuming play areas. Maintaining general tidiness after activities.
Ideal nanny:
The ideal nanny for this family is a caring, flexible, and creative individual who enjoys engaging in fun activities. Patience and a calm demeanor are essential. The ability to understand and connect with children is the most important attribute for these parents. Experience with children with special needs is a plus but not required.
About the children :
The eldest child is caring, persistent, affectionate, energetic, and highly intelligent. He has high functioning autism, anxiety, and communication difficulties, which can present social challenges. He often struggles to understand sarcasm. Despite these challenges, he enjoys activities such as going to the gym, listening to music, recess, and math. He struggles with reading and writing. His after-school activities include karate and occupational therapy. His other interests include building, movement, and spending time outdoors with trucks. He is creative and curious, often asking why things work the way they do. He has a big heart, is affectionate, and enjoys meeting new people and adults. When he is frustrated, he is redirected through counting or clear instructions from a loving caregiver. He is a fan of Power Rangers.
The younger child is playful, loving, adventurous, and enjoys exploring cause-and-effect relationships and listening to music. He is currently receiving early intervention for reading and speech therapy, as he has not spoken his first words yet. He participates in gymnastics.
Both children are allergic to dairy, soy, wheat, and corn, so these are avoided in the home. The boys have a close relationship, with the youngest sometimes protective of his older brother.
About the household:
This is a Catholic household led by a loving, organized, and empathetic single mother who is devout and courageous. The family has a cat; however, no pet care is required.
