Job Description

The Intersect Group is partnered with our client who is in search of a Systems Administrator to join their team in Tulsa.

Systems Administrator

Direct Hire (No C2C or third-party submissions)

Location: Tulsa 74134

Schedule: onsite 5 days a week

On Call Schedule: This position maintains on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support for all critical infrastructure we are responsible for within the company. This entails one week of a secondary support role and one week of a primary support role once every 6-8 weeks.

The Systems Administrator is responsible for the efficient provisioning, configuration, operation, and ongoing maintenance of hardware, software, and supporting infrastructure. This role ensures that all systems—including hardware, operating systems, applications, and associated procedures—align with the organization's standards and values. Key technologies supported include, but are not limited to, VMware, Microsoft Windows Server, SharePoint, Active Directory, IIS, Cohesity, System Center, and various third-party platforms.

Needs:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • 1-3 years of experience with systems design/administration.
  • 2+ years’ experience managing VMWare, Storage (Pure experience is a plus), Backup and HA principals, Fibre Channel (Brocade is a plus).
  • Requirement of 1-3 years knowledge of managing Azure and container products.
  • Through understanding of network and server concepts including security, active directory, virtualization, and server operating systems.
  • Experience troubleshooting computer hardware/software related problems.
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems.
  • Skills include day-to-day server & systems administration and the management of Active Directory to ensure performance and high availability of systems and services.
  • Diagnostic/troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite, PC and server hardware.
  • Must have strong oral communication skills.
  • Must be able to take the initiative and to work with minimal supervision.

Preferred:

  • 4-year College degree in a technology related field.
  • Citrix, IBM AS/400 Microsoft SQL Server, Cohesity, and UNIX.
  • Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Ability to work with junior personnel during projects and in day-to-day operations.
  • Must be able to take the initiative and to work without direct supervision.

Duties:

Systems Administration – 55%

  • Develop and maintain procedures for system installation and configuration.
  • Contribute to the development and enforcement of technical standards.
  • Conduct daily system monitoring to verify the integrity and availability of hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes; review system and application logs.
  • Generate periodic performance reports to support capacity planning.
  • Regularly apply operating system patches and upgrades; update administrative tools and utilities; configure and deploy new services as needed.
  • Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization; configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required.

Problem Management – 35%

  • Provide second-level support for server and system issues.
  • Analyze problems and document resolutions to ensure timely and effective issue management.

Project Collaboration – 5%

  • Work independently with project teams, including management and developers, to assess technical needs.
  • Recommend and implement appropriate server and storage solutions to support project requirements.

Backup and Recovery – 5%

  • Execute daily backup operations, ensuring successful backup of all required file systems and system data.
  • Manage recovery media, including creation, recycling, and off-site storage.
  • Repair and recover systems from hardware or software failures, coordinating communication with affected users.
