Job Description

Event Strategies, Inc. (ESI) is a full service event production company based in Alexandria, VA.

ESI is in the market to hire stagehands (in Alexandria, VA or Palm Beach, FL) with a passion to produce both large and small scale events locally and nationwide. Events include conferences, trade shows, concerts, outdoor and indoor political speaking events, traveling shows, and more. The ideal candidates will assist with event setup and teardown, ensuring all technical and staging elements are built efficiently. 

Compensation

• Hourly/Day-Rate pay that is negotiable based on skill level and experience. Per diem for travel is provided.

Qualifications

• Perform necessary tasks in the set up and dismantling of staging, lighting, audio, video, and other event equipment
• Load and unload trucks with production gear, ensuring proper handling and placement
• Follow stage plots, lighting diagrams, and setup instructions as directed by production managers
• Work closely with lighting and audio technicians to position and secure equipment
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring safety standards are met
• Operate basic stagehand equipment such as lifts and power tools as needed
• Troubleshoot and address technical issues promptly
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work in physically demanding conditions
• Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Willingness to travel to different event locations as needed
• Forklift or rigging certification is a benefit but not required

Experience

• Previous experience in stage production, live events, or theater preferred but not required
• Basic knowledge of audio, lighting, and video equipment is a plus

Environment

• Work is performed at event venues such as hotel ballrooms, conference centers, arenas, concert venues as well as outdoors in amphitheaters, fields, etc. with a large media component.
• You may also have the opportunity to work in the ESI warehouse for gear pulling and equipment maintenance.
• Team members working times may be irregular hours and on-call status including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
