Job summary - Social Worker
Under the direction of the Program Director, provides developmental screening, assessment, direct service, and guidance to families of children birth to three years of age who are at risk for, or experiencing developmental delays; uses skills in an area of specialization: social work.
Responsibilities
● Provide home-based services to families across the catchment area.
● Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of all areas of infant-toddler development.
● Functions as a multi-disciplinary team member in the screening and developmental assessment of children from birth to three years of age who are at risk for or experiencing developmental delays.
● Participate in screenings, assessments, child groups, parent groups, center visits, and home visits as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
● Utilize a parent coaching model in working with families.
● Provide service coordination to assigned caseload, including coordinating the development, monitoring, and review of the Individual Family Service Plan.
● With parental permission, collaborate with other community agencies to ensure continuity of services for families, including childcare providers, medical providers, social service agencies, and specialty providers serving children with autism or hearing/vision loss to support the child and the family; empowers families to advocate for their rights and needs.
Qualifications
Social Worker: Master’s Degree in Social Work; Current licensure as a Licensed Certified Social Worker (LCSW) OR Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) by the Massachusetts Board of Registration of Social Workers.
● Two (2) years of pediatric experience is preferred.
● Effective verbal and written communication skills.
● Working knowledge of Google Drive, Word, Excel, and Office 365 including Outlook, OneDrive, Zoom and Teams.
● Ability to use computer-based technology including a computer/laptop and cell phone.
● Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation is required.
