Role: Line Cook /Short Order Cook

About Us 

As the first female and veteran-owned production brewery in NYC, TALEA opened its doors in March 2021 and has grown its footprint to five taprooms across NYC since. With a 20 barrel brew house and 1 barrel pilot system, we brew crowd favorites as well as experimental small batch beers, all with the mission of creating easy-to-love beers for beer nerds and novices alike. Having been featured in publications such as The New York Times, Grub Street, Forbes, Business Insider, Thrillist, The Infatuation, Eater, Cheddar, Time Out, and more, TALEA is making a mark on the beer industry. 

The Role 

TALEA is looking for eager, hard workers to join our food team. The kitchen role is an integral part of our taproom experiences. Our food program is designed to be executed with one or two people in the kitchen, and is routinely being revamped to best pair with our variety of beers. This role requires ingredient prep, cooking, and plating with attention to detail, organization and consistency.

Responsibilities 

• Responsible for all food prep, cooking, plating, and dishwashing
• Punctual, responsible and able to maintain a high standard of cleanliness and organization
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
• Handles, stores, and rotates all ingredients properly
• Communicate thoughtfully, respectfully, and efficiently with coworkers and customers 
• Maintain a positive outlook and professional behavior under pressure 

Requirements 

• 1-2 years of experience in a commercial kitchen
• Excited to work in food and hospitality, particularly in a kitchen.
• Available to work 8-10 hour shifts during days, evenings, weekends and holidays
• Food Handlers license 
• Ability to lift 40 pounds 

Compensation 

• This role is $22/hr with potential for overtime
