We’re Hiring a Senior Director of Technology Strategy & Programs

(Hybrid Role – 2 days in the office each week)

Quick Snapshot: In this role, you’ll lead technology strategy; manage industry councils; foster collaboration among FMI members and partners; and generate effective resources and tools. You’ll also stay on top of emerging technology trends, identify new partnership opportunities, and help guide the technological future of the food industry.

What You’ll Do in This Role:

  • Develop and manage technology strategy on behalf of FMI and the food retail industry.
  • Oversee the Technology Council and related workgroups to advance strategic goals and priorities that benefit our members and their businesses.
  • Develop and manage annual technology programs, including summits, forums, and business-to-business meetings.
  • Identify and support cutting-edge research relevant to the technology community based on emerging trends.
  • Develop member-friendly tools and resources highlighting important topics and key trends.
  • Identify new opportunities for value creation and revenue growth to enhance FMI’s mission and objectives.
  • Foster communication and collaboration with industry partners to eliminate duplication of industry efforts.

Education and Skills That You’ll Need to Be Successful:

  • At least 10 to 12 years of professional management experience directly related to this role, including experience managing technology or digital media/commerce, project management, and business planning.
  • Experience working in or knowledge of the food retail industry.
  • Meeting facilitation skills.
  • Must be an engagement strategist with the ability to inspire, lead, and positively influence internal and external stakeholders.
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking experience.
  • Computer literacy with a strong understanding of AI platforms (e.g., Gemini, ChatGPT, etc.), and Microsoft Office 365 products.
  • Budget creation and management experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with the ability to reach a consensus with stakeholders when there are varying opinions on the table.
