About the Role

The Purchasing Specialist is responsible for sourcing and managing packaging materials and other manufacturing supplies to support efficient, cost-effective factory operations. This role ensures timely procurement in alignment with established purchasing policies, while maintaining strict compliance with quality, specification, pricing, and delivery requirements. The specialist actively monitors purchase orders from issuance through receipt, resolving variances and supplier issues to minimize operational disruption.

Essential Functions and Job Duties:

• Purchases packaging, and other supplies to be delivered on schedule in accordance with existing purchasing policies and guidelines, thus contributing to efficient factory operations.
• Monitors and follows up on all purchase orders issued to ensure compliance with quantity, specification, quality, lead time accuracy, delivery and pricing.
• Proactive searches of new products and suppliers, which could improve production efficiencies or quality of finished product.
• Implements and administer new processes and procedures that will enable the Purchasing team to effectively manage our purchased products.
• Optimize supply chain costs by reducing waste, minimizing downtime, and standardizing specifications.
• Tracks, monitors, and reports on the purchase price variances for packaging.
• Monitors and tracks material complaints to improve our supplier and customer quality.
• Serves as a purchasing resource for outside warehouses to ensure compliance with purchasing policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with procurement and IT teams to assess, configure, and deploy SAP system enhancements, ensuring seamless integration, improved process efficiency, and data integrity.

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Purchasing, Business, or a related field.
• General knowledge of purchasing, bidding process and supplier relationship management.
