Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Pharmacy Technician position located in Deerfield Beach, FL. The Pharmacy Technician's responsibilities include processing prescriptions, managing pharmacy inventory, and assisting pharmacists in daily operations. Additional tasks include maintaining accurate records, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and delivering excellent customer service to support patient care in a long-term care setting.

Duties

• Strong knowledge of prescription processes and pharmacy procedures
• Excellent customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals
• Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in handling medications
• Ability to work in a team and maintain efficiency in a fast-paced environment
• Provide outstanding customer service to patients and healthcare professionals by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly in a high volume LTC Pharmacy.
• Assist in the intake process for patients, ensuring accurate information is gathered for medication management.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of medical terminology to facilitate effective communication within the healthcare environment.
• Processing refills
• Triaging documents

Qualifications

• Prior experience as a pharmacy technician with a strong background in LTC pharmacy or hospital settings is highly preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration procedures, and aseptic technique practices.
• Familiarity with pharmacy software systems for medication management and inventory control.
• Excellent patient service skills with a focus on clear communication and compassionate support.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in fast-paced settings.
• Certification as a pharmacy technician (CPhT) or equivalent is required; ongoing education in hospital or LTC pharmacy practices is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of medical protocols related to intake processes and medication safety standards

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule: 9:00am to 5:30PM
