Job Description

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:  Assists the Director of Performing Arts & Sports in general operation and setting the vision of the Performing Arts Department and sports. Manages the speech development aspect of the Performing Arts Department through outreach and promotion. Designs and enhances the marketing efforts of the Performing Arts Department, in coordination with the general Marketing Department of the NFHS, to further the reach of performing arts programs across the nation. Assists in building strategic partnerships, performing arts branding, marketing performing arts content, and growing national awareness of the NFHS.

This position includes travel to NFHS events and member organization events. Attendance and relationship building is key to growing and maintaining excellent partnerships.

ESSENTIAL AND RELATED JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the development of projects and initiatives that support the growth of performing arts programming and resources.
  • Increase departmental effectiveness through strategic partnerships.
  • Work to secure sponsorships for Performing Arts.
  • Service partnerships using customer relationship management (CRM).
  • Work as a liaison between outside organizations and the Performing Arts Department.
  • Strengthen relationships with organizations that share a similar mission.
  • Monitor activation and fulfillment of partnership contracts.
  • Assist with proofing of rules review materials, rules book edits, exam and questionnaire.
  • Prepare correspondence to Performing Arts and Spirit committees, members, state associations, etc. regarding rules meetings, announcements, exam, questionnaire and awards.
  • Assist the Director of Performing Arts and Sports with departmental budget planning. 
  • Assist the Director of Performing Arts and Sports with scheduling.
  • Assist with special projects as time permits.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate business acumen in relationship building.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility.
  • Customer service oriented.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office platforms.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Three years of experience in Performing Arts or related field
  • Three years of experience in strategic growth

SALARY AND BENEFITS:

  • $65,000 - $75,000 plus full-time employee benefit offerings.
