Job Title: Maintenance Technician I — Direct Hire

Location: Portsmouth, NH

Shift: 2nd Shift — 4:00 PM to 11:00 PM

Pay: $36–$42/hr DOE + $0.75 2nd shift differential + $1.00 3rd shift differential

Schedule : Mostly Monday–Friday, every other Saturday — Sunday paid double time

Reports To: Maintenance Manager

SUMMARY / OBJECTIVE

The Maintenance Technician I supports plant productivity by performing troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and repairs on industrial production and packaging equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role ensures safe and reliable operation of equipment to reduce downtime and maintain production output while adhering to safety and food manufacturing standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical and electrical issues on production and packaging equipment
• Perform preventive maintenance on motors, conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics, ovens, grinders, mixers, freezers, and related systems
• Read mechanical and electrical schematics and follow technical documentation
• Perform changeovers and line adjustments to support production schedule
• Support installation, relocation, and setup of equipment as needed
• Use CMMS / computer tools for parts lookup, PM documentation, and work orders
• Identify unsafe or unsanitary conditions and report immediately
• Participate in continuous improvement and reliability initiatives

MUST HAVES / QUALIFICATIONS

• Hands-on industrial maintenance experience (production or manufacturing environment preferred)
• Experience repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, or pneumatic systems
• Ability to read drawings and technical manuals
• OSHA awareness or knowledge of safe work practices in maintenance
• Vocational certificate or formal training in mechanical/electrical maintenance preferred
• Food manufacturing experience helpful but not required
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
