Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

The Maintenance Supervisor oversees the maintenance team and ensures all equipment, machinery, and facilities are properly maintained to support safe and efficient operations. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing maintenance activities while ensuring compliance with safety standards and company policies.

TYPICAL JOB DUTIES:

• Direct skilled trades employees in the maintenance of company building and grounds. 
• Assure utility system operations through regular inspection and preventative maintenance.
• Direct and coordinate the maintenance of equipment and general repairs.
• Ensure that all direct reports conform with safety regulations, use of personal equipment, machine guards, etc. 
• Oversee preventative maintenance program of greasing, oiling, changing filters, etc., along with keeping up-to-date log records on equipment and repairs.
• Actively participate in meetings along with attending weekly plant production meetings with Plant Manager and Supervisors.
• Continually monitor existing equipment and process technology and systematically upgrade internal capabilities as necessary and practical.
• Work with Engineering on company projects as directed.
• Responsible for managing department budget and reporting employee hours.
• Develop and implement maintenance procedures and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Is responsible for adhering to all rules, regulations, policies, programs and related Quality Management System including SQF, HACCP and GMP to ensure safety and quality of products.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• Degree in Supervision/Management and a Mechanical or Electrical background, or 7-10 years of related experience.
• Must have a strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems as well as training in preventative plant maintenance systems.
• Proficient in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) and MS Office.
