Kindfulness is a portmanteau of KINDness and mindfulNESS. We are recruiting volunteers and interns for supervised educational credits and vocational training.

THIS POSITION IS HYBRID (REMOTE & ON SITE) AND BASED IN COLUMBUS, OH. YOU WILL NEED YOUR OWN TRANSPORTATION TO WORK WITH PARTNER AGENCIES.

Kindfulness has secured partners with funding & resources. While it is a nonprofit, one of its programs is a technology development that will offshoot into a for-profit business. Contributions during the unpaid period may lead to stakes in the for-profit business

As a community-centered nonprofit startup based in Columbus, Ohio, USA, Kindfulness focuses on five core populations who have experienced unhousing, trafficking, reentry, sexuality/gender-related stressors, and military veteranship. Kindfulnss seeks to reduce illness and mortality, and improve upward mobility, related to the insecurity of, and the ineffective use of food, healthcare supplies, and services navigation, linkage, and utilization.

Kindfulness' strategies include:

1. 24/7/365 accessible smart vending machines, anywhere delivery, and mobile outreach to distribute resources where physical access to traditional agencies is a barrier due to distance, lack of transit, mobility, operating hours, or privacy concerns.

2. A service-research-policy network to optimize & monitor the longitudinal accountability and sustainability of program & policy effectiveness

3. Mind-body interventions such as mindfulness-based stress reduction and mindfulness-oriented relapse enhancement.

RESPONSIBILITIES

This is a comprehensive list of responsibilities you can choose from:

1. Operation: business plan, compliance, infrastructure, gap analyses
2. Program development
3. Agency collaboration: meeting and establishing long term rapport with leaders and staff of organizations to understand their program development, unmet needs, and discuss collaboration
4. Community analyses: scope and analyze strengths, barriers, and preferences of core populations
5. Establish a network of human services, research institutions, and policymakers & advocates
6. Fundraising & grant writing
7. Workload will be limited to 10 - 20 hours/week, schedule is flexible.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATION

1. Ability to commute within the Columbus Metro area with your own transportation
2. Equivalence of a bachelor's degree
3. Minimum of 6-month commitment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION

1. Strong verbal and written communication, and effective social skills to maintain rapport with community members and collaborators.
2. Minimum of 3 months working with nonprofits in operational or leadership roles
3. Minimum of 3 months direct-contact with consumers (paid or unpaid) with at least one of Kindfulness' core communities: unsheltered, trafficking, reentry, LGBT+, and military veterans.
4. Background in healthcare, fundraising, grant writing, and public policy.
