Position Summary:

The Hospice Dispatcher plays a critical role in coordinating and scheduling the delivery and pick-up of medical equipment for hospice patients. This individual ensures seamless communication between hospice staff, caregivers, and delivery teams, emphasizing customer service and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Schedule and monitor delivery and pick-up of DME to ensure timely service.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for hospice providers, patients, and caregivers regarding equipment needs and status updates.
  • Address patient and caregiver inquiries with empathy and professionalism.
  • Resolve scheduling issues and respond to urgent delivery requests promptly.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment inventory, delivery schedules, and patient details.
  • Update documentation to comply with company policies and HIPAA regulations.
  • Collaborate with the warehouse and logistics teams to ensure equipment availability.
  • Assist with tracking and resolving equipment-related issues in coordination with other departments.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in dispatching and customer service within the hospice or healthcare field is highly preferred.
  • Background in dispatch or customer service in a medical setting will be considered.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in scheduling software, phone systems, and office applications.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively under pressure.
