POSITION SUMMARY

The Fresh Food Associate plays a crucial role in delivering a positive shopping experience for customers by ensuring the availability, freshness and quality of products in the Fresh Food department. This position requires a combination of customer service skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining High Standards. The Fresh Food Associate will assist the Fresh Food Manager in the operations of the Fresh Food department, including but not limited to ordering, merchandising, rotating product, inventorying merchandise and profitability.

  Essential Functions Statement(s)

Stocking and Inventory Management:

Receive, inspect, and properly store incoming shipments of fresh food products.

Ensure accurate rotation of products to maintain freshness and minimize waste.

Monitor inventory levels and communicate replenishment needs to management.

Quality Assurance:

Conduct regular quality checks to ensure that all fresh food products meet company standards.

Remove any expired, damaged, or subpar items from shelves promptly.

 Follow Proper Food Safety and Sanitation Guidelines at all times.

Customer Service:

Provide friendly, knowledgeable assistance to customers seeking information or assistance in the Fresh Food Department.

Offer suggestions and recommendations for products based on customer preferences and needs.

Address customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a professional manner.

Merchandise and Display:

Maintain attractive and appealing displays of fresh food products to attract customers and promote sales.

Ensure proper signage and pricing for all items, including promotional offers or discounts.

Regularly refresh displays to highlight seasonal or featured items.

Food Preparation

Prepare and package fresh food items such as sandwiches, salads or fruit trays according to established Job Aids, recipes and guidelines.

Follow proper Food Handling Procedures and adhere to food safety regulations.

Keep preparation areas clean and organized at all times.

Cleaning and Sanitation

Keep all work areas, including storage areas, refrigeration units, and display cases, clean and organized.

Follow established cleaning schedules and protocols to maintain a hygienic environment.

Dispose of waste properly and in accordance with Store Policies.

Qualifications and Skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand, walk and lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) for extended periods.

Capable of bending, stooping, and reaching overhead. Ability to occasionally work in cold temperatures while working in the walk-in cooler or freezer.
