About the Company

The Field Service Technician Level 2-4 is responsible for troubleshooting and repairing various client products and installing high-tech machinery when necessary. This includes diagnosing issues in mechanical alignment, hardware, software, peripheral devices, and automation. The technician will provide feedback to management and customers through detailed trip reports and will assist in creating technical manuals to improve the troubleshooting ability of distribution network. This role directly contributes to the success of the customer service department by resolving complex issues beyond the scope of distribution’s capabilities.

About the Role

The Field Service Technician Level 2-4 is responsible for troubleshooting and repairing various client products and installing high-tech machinery when necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to Customer Sites:
  • Troubleshoot and repair client products as needed.
  • Install new equipment and retrofits, including design improvements.
  • Provide technical support for installation and repairs via phone or email.

Documentation & Reporting:

  • Generate technical bulletins, repair manuals, and provide detailed trip reports.
  • Adhere to all company policies, safety practices, and provide feedback to management.

Qualifications

Experience/Education:

  • Associate’s Degree in Electronics or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in CNC controls, servo systems, PLCs, automation, and mechanical systems (e.g., machine tool theory, hydraulics, pneumatics).
  • 5+ years of prior experience with machine tools.
  • FANUC CNC experience (preferred).
  • Okuma-Howa product knowledge (preferred).
  • Technical writing experience (preferred).

Required Skills

  • Technical:
  • Proficient in precision measuring and diagnostic equipment (laser, ball bar, micrometers, etc.).
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Basic mechanical and electrical skills.
  • Ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics.
  • Proficiency with PC tools (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools, electrical/mechanical devices (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes, forklifts).

Preferred Skills

  • FANUC CNC experience.
  • Okuma-Howa product knowledge.
  • Technical writing experience.
