JOB SUMMARY:
This job serves as a clerical assistant and supports the practice manager and overall clinic operations. The Clinic Operations Technician is instrumental in ensuring clinic and dental supply levels are maintained, equipment is monitored, and lab compliance audits are conducted.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provides back-up to Practice Manager for immediate non-managerial operations needs.
• Opens and distributes mail as backup to Executive Assistant.
• Orders medical, dental, and clinic office supplies.
• Maintains inventory and storage areas.
• Maintains patient education materials.
• Completes CLIA, OSHA, and safety daily, weekly, and monthly tasks.
• Receives VFC Private vaccines; unpacks and maintains proper storage according to state regulations.
• Supports Practice Manager with other compliance related tasks.
• Acts as a delegate to place work orders for equipment repairs and environmental services.
• When delegated, acts as a point of contact for all outside vendors.
• Maintains knowledge appropriate to the level of the role about CLIA, OSHA, VFC, and other regulations governing the work supported.
o Proactively seeks clarification and/or guidance on new and existing responsibilities when any discrepancy in knowledge is realized.
• Conducts recurring safety audits and documents findings; participates in remediation projects when findings are discovered.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Attend required internal meetings, trainings, and events.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Responsible for reporting any potentially non-compliant conduct.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Minimum Education & Experience:
• High School diploma or GED required.
• One year of administrative experience is required, healthcare experience preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• Oral and written fluency in English and oral fluency in Spanish required.
• Flexible and adaptable. Willing to jump in where needed.
• Ability to flourish in a team-oriented care model; strong team building skills.
• Excellent communication and listening skills. Creative and positive approach to communication and problem solving.
• Computer knowledge including familiarity with MS Office and Electronic Medical Records.
• Excellent organizational skills; able to multi-task, prioritize work and stay focused in a busy clinic setting.
• Able to execute work plans independently and with flexibility.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals of diverse races, ethnicities, ages and sexual orientations in a multicultural environment; strong initiative and passion to advocate and provide healthcare to the underserved.

Pay and Benefits:
Tepeyac Community Health Center offers a full compensation package to all full-time employees. Benefits are prorated based on FTE. Benefits include medical, dental and vision insurance, a flexible spending account, a 401k, disability insurance paid for by Tepeyac, eight paid holidays, approximately four weeks of paid time off each year and over a week of sick time.
This position is 20hrs/wk. with an hourly range of $20-$22, depending on experience . The schedule is Monday through Friday; our clinic operating hours are 8:00am - 5:00pm. The clinic is also open on Saturdays from 8:00am - 12:00pm. There may be sporadic Saturday coverage that is required.
